Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort

Cabana Bay was is a fun resort. It’s got a retro vibe that is inspired by the 1950’s and 1960’s beach resorts. It has a few classic cars right outside lobby entrance to give that classic hotel feeling as you walk up, and the vibrant theming continues throughout the resort. A nostalgic soundtrack plays through the lobby speakers, as you check in.

This resort is probably the best to stay at if you have children in your group. There is a bowling alley with a restaurant, arcade, two large pools, a lazy river and more. Both pools have sandy beaches and fire pits for roasting marshmallows.

Right inside the lobby is the Swizzle Lounge. It offers cocktails and snacks. The Galaxy Bowl Restaurant is located in Galaxy Bowl. It offers a sit-down style meal with an assortment of yummy appetizers, entrees, desserts, and drinks. This was our favorite place to eat. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the burger and wings from the menu and each was very tasty. I think this was the best place to eat at Cabana Bay.

They also have a quick service food court area, Bayliner Diner where you can get pizza, sandwiches and burgers etc. As you eat, there are two large screens showing vintage ads.

Around the pool areas you can find the pool bars. Atomic Bar and The Hideaway Bar & Grill. You can get snacks and drinks at each.

If you need some Universal merchandise, there is a store right on site! It’s a convenient way to grab some lanyards, bags, or anything you may need or want to wear into the parks.

The rooms are spacious and can accompany large families. They have standard rooms with two queen beds. The family suites have two queen beds, and a pull-out sofa with a sliding partition, and a kitchenette. The room we stayed in was just standard but it was great! They have pool and Volcano Bay view rooms as well.

As with other hotels, Cabana Bay has perks. Early park admission to the wizarding world of Harry Potter, walking path to Volcano Bay, free transportation, resort-wide charging privileges, and character appearances. So for the price, Cabana Bay Beach Resort is a great choice for your family vacation.
