A room with a view: Aventura Hotel

Aventura is a sleek modern hotel that is on the smaller side. There are views of all three Universal Orlando theme parks from the top floors. The room variations are standard and deluxe. Both feature separate bath and vanity areas. If you want to have the best view, you can upgrade to a skyline view which is floors 10 and above. We booked a standard room however I asked for the highest possible floor. We stayed on the 9th floor and you can still see quite a bit of the city. To be honest, I wasn’t too excited to stay in this hotel but I was very surprised how much I ended up liking it.

The room was on the small side. See pictures below. If you have more than 3-4 people staying, it would be best to book a larger room. There wasn’t a lot of floor space to move around each other and there was only 3 of us. The decor and colors were tranquil and I enjoyed it. There is an iPad that controls everything from lights to the TV. If you want to see a full tour, click here.

There are also many options for food and beverages. There is a Starbucks for those early morning risers or for those needing a pick me up to continue the day. A food hall called Urban Pantry serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks so you’ll have options throughout the day and night. BarVentura is a cozy lobby bar for you to sit relax and grab a drink after check-in. Bar-Sol is the pool bar that offers your typical frozen drinks and cocktails.

The coolest and scariest restaurant I have ever been to, Bar 17 Bistro, is a rooftop bar and grill located on the 17th floor of the hotel and wraps around so you can see pretty much all of the city life surrounding the hotel. It is quite amazing. I am scared of heights so I couldn’t get as close to the windows that I had wanted to but I tried to get video and pictures the best I could. If you are scared of heights, this is your warning, beware!

The morning before we headed out I got a lite breakfast. The bacon was delicious, the egg was meh, and the ‘hash browns’ were a big chunk of grease. Not recommended. So if you go to Urban Pantry for breakfast don’t get those. It was just a quick bite before the rest of my group woke up so it worked.

The pool area was nice. It was very windy and cold the day I was there so we couldn’t get in the pool. There was a pool table and some other activities there to do other than swimming. The fire pit was lit and a cozy area to sit and drink a cup of coffee and enjoy the sunshine.

The location of the hotel is perfect. I had never seen Sapphire Falls before and it is literally next door. After we checked in we went over there to explore. You can also take the water taxi from there to City Walk instead of walking or the buses and that is what we did. The walking path is beautiful but it’s very long. Cabana Bay is across the street but they want you to take the walking path to get to it because there is no crosswalk. It can be dangerous so if you choose to cross anyway, as a lot of people do, it is at your own risk. Overall, I enjoyed our stay here and I will definitely be staying again.
