Dive Into Adventure: A Complete Guide to Aquatica Orlando
Orlando may be best known for its world-famous theme parks, but just minutes from the major attractions is a tropical oasis that combines water thrills, sandy beaches, and up-close animal encounters — Aquatica Orlando. Owned by SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, Aquatica isn't just another water park. It’s a vibrant, South Pacific-themed splash zone that offers fun for all ages, whether you're a thrill-seeker, a lazy-river floater, or a parent with toddlers in tow.
Why Aquatica Stands Out
Aquatica isn’t your average water park. It’s known for weaving together exciting water slides, relaxing lagoons, and marine life experiences, all wrapped up in lush, tropical scenery. I have been a pass member for years and with my pass, I get access to Aquatica. There are many tiers for the passes and they offer many deals throughout the year that are hard to pass up. If you have little ones, SeaWorld/Aquatica is definitely worth the money. So let’s check out some highlights and see what they have to offer..
1. Thrilling Water Slides
Reef Plunge, a partially clear water slide that races through a pool of playful dolphins. Min height 42”
KareKare Curl – A zero-gravity experience with a giant wave wall. Min height 48”
Ihu’s Breakaway Falls – Orlando’s tallest multi-drop tower slide — not for the faint of heart! At 8 stories high you can see it before you enter the park! Once you climb 126 stairs there are 4 separate slides awaiting you. The orange slide is the longest, the green slide has the shortest drop, the blue slide has the steepest incline, the purple slide doesn’t have a breakaway box like the others but its the steepest. Min height 48”
Tassie’s Underwater Twist - This slide is so unique you won’t want to miss it. As you slide into the domes, an underwater projection is all around you making it seem like you’re under the sea! Min height 48”
2. Chill Zones for Relaxation
For those who prefer to float more than free-fall, Aquatica offers several chill spots:
Loggerhead Lane – A lazy river with underwater viewing of tropical fish and Commerson’s dolphins. The tubes from Reef Plunge also go through the aquarium so you can watch riders shoot by.
Roa’s Rapids – A fast-paced river experience that lets you drift swiftly through the park. It’s basically a lazy river but turned up a notch. No tubes allowed, but life jackets are recommended. This is my favorite attraction at Aquatica. It’s so much fun!
Cutback Cove & Big Surf Shores – Dual wave pools with rolling surf and sandy beaches. Cutback Cove has big waves that are always rolling and is open year round. Big Surf Shores has small and large waves, is wider and shallower. It is only open seasonally.

3. Kid-Friendly Fun
Aquatica is also incredibly family-friendly. Little ones will love:
Turi’s Kid Cove – Newly reimagined with water slides, tipping buckets, and splashy play areas. Tamariki Twirl is a wave slide specifically designed for younger children, with a pint-sized half-pipe.
Walkabout Waters – A massive water playground with climbing nets and soaking splash zones.
4. Animal Encounters
One of Aquatica’s unique draws is its blend of water attractions and animal experiences. Getting to zoom through a dolphin habitat or float past tropical fish adds an educational, awe-inspiring twist to your day of fun.
5. Dining & Refreshments
Spending the day in the sun will work up an appetite, and luckily, Aquatica has you covered with a variety of food and drink choices — from quick bites to full meals.
Waterstone Grill - The go-to spot for a classic park meal. Think juicy burgers, chicken tenders, salads, wraps, and more. There’s plenty of shaded seating nearby, making it a perfect mid-day lunch break.
Walkabout Pizza - You can’t go wrong with pizza. They offer flatbread-style cheese, pepperoni, and meat lovers personal pizzas. They also have garlic knots and chips for a side. Beverages include fountain drinks, water and assorted cocktails.
Banana Beach Cook-Out - This is my favorite place. They offer BBQ ribs, burgers, pulled pork, and BBQ chicken salad. You can also get a fruit cup, coleslaw, or Mac & cheese for your side. Beverages include fountain drinks, water and assorted cocktails as well. (Open seasonally)
Mango Market - A quick-service option with snacks, drinks, sandwiches, and wraps. It’s a great spot to grab a refreshing beverage and light bites while on the go.
Papa’s Cantina - This is where you’ll find more unique bites like beef empanadas, loaded nachos, and churros. Perfect for something a little different and packed with flavor.
Kura’s Beachside Panini - Yes, you read that right — paninis in a water park! Kura’s offers hot pressed sandwiches, chips, and a relaxing spot near the beach area. (Open seasonally)
💡 Pro Tip: Consider the All-Day Dining Deal if you plan to stay for several hours — you can get one entrée, side, and drink every 90 minutes at participating locations. It’s a great way to stay fueled without spending a fortune.
Cool Treats & Desserts
Dippin’ Dots stands are scattered throughout the park (because what’s a water park without Dippin’ Dots?). You’ll also find soft serve, ice cream, and frozen lemonade stands to cool you down on a hot Florida day.
Refreshing Beverages
Aquatica serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at multiple locations around the park. Beer, frozen cocktails, and cold seltzers are available for adults looking to unwind poolside.
6. Extras and Upgrades
To make your day extra special, you can book a private cabana, or purchase Quick Queue to skip slide lines which will be pretty much a must in the summer. It gets packed!
Tips for Visiting Aquatica Orlando
Plan ahead: Check the website for closures and times before you get too excited and find out something you wanted to do isn’t operating. The SeaWorld parks are notorious for closures.
Arrive Early: The park can get busy, especially during weekends, holidays and summer months. Getting there early means shorter wait times and better lounge chair spots.
Bring your own towels: Aquatica does not supply them. I had to learn the hard way. They do have shops to purchase items if you forget something like towels or sunscreen but you’ll be paying a ridiculous amount.
Bring Water Shoes: The pavement gets HOT during summer, and water shoes are allowed on most attractions.
Stay Hydrated: Florida heat is no joke. Refillable drink cups are available and worth it if you're spending all day there.
Consider a Multi-Park Ticket: Aquatica often offers bundle deals with SeaWorld and Discovery Cove.
Rules: No food or beverages are allowed in the park except a water bottle or refillable water bottle and baby food/formula. If you have allergies, you can call park security or guest relations upon arrival for approval to bring in special foods. To save money you can leave a cooler in your vehicle with food and drinks. Just make sure you get your hand stamped before you leave the park to be able to get back in.
